Central Sulawesi Launches 30 Tourism Events in 2019, Including Togean Island (pegipegi)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM -  The Central Sulawesi Province is holding 30 leading tourism events throughout 2019 to restore the tourism sector which had been paralyzed by natural disasters that occurred in parts of the region in Palu, Donggala and Sigi.

Indonesia Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, represented by Expert Staff on Multicultural Affairs Esthy Reko Astuti, and Central Sulawesi Governor Longki Djanggola launched 2019 Central Sulawesi Calender of Event.

Esthy, who is also the Chief Executive of 100 Calender of Event (CoE) Wonderful Indonesia 2019 said that Central Sulawesi Province throughout this year held 30 featured events in 13 districts / cities.

"Of the 30 events, 3 of them were included in the 100 Calender of Event (CoE) Wonderful Indonesia 2019 and received direct assistance from the Ministry of Tourism," Esthy said at the event with the theme 'Bringing Central Celebes to The World.'

Esthy Reko Astuti appreciated the launch of Central Sulawesi 2019 Calender of Event in order to promote and increase tourist visits to Central Sulawesi. It was recorded in 2018, Central Sulawesi was visited by 25,741 foreign tourists (foreign tourists) and 3,4321,178 domestic tourists (wisnus).

"Most of the tourists who came to Central Sulawesi visited Togean Island as the best island for underwater attractions. "Togean Island is a world-class marine tourism destination," said Esthy, Astuti's Record, Friday (5/4/2019).

To increase foreign tourists' visits, especially to Togean Island as an icon of world-class marine tourism, said Esthy Reko Astuti, Central Sulawesi must have an international airport which will have direct flights with a travel time of 2-3 hours. Meanwhile, if by road to the Ampena is 375 km away in about 10 hours.

On the same occasion Governor Longki Djanggola explained, Central Sulawesi tried to improve the performance of elements 3A (Attractions, Amenities, and Accessibility) as an important part in promoting tourism.

"For this year's attractions in Central Sulawesi, there were only 8 leading events and 2 events which were included in 100 WI CoE 2018 but now it has increased to 30 events with 3 of them entering CoE," Longki Djanggola said.

The three events that entered CoE 2019 namely the Tomini Bay Enchantment Festival (FPTT) will take place at Kayubura Beach (Sail Tomini 2015 location) Parigi Moutong Regency on April 19-23, 2019, the Pulo Dua Festival will take place in Balantak Utara District, Banggai Regency on 25- July 28, 2019.

The Pulo Dua annual festival displays a variety of cultures and the diversity of flora, fauna and attraction of the natural panorama of Banggai Regency, and the Poso Lake Tectonic Festival (FDTP) will take place in Lake Poso, Tentena on August 26-30 2019. This cultural festival has been held since 1989 became the leading event to increase tourist visits to Central Sulawesi, especially to Poso Regency.
