JAKARTA, NNC - The collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism with digital-based transportation service, Grab continues.
Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya explained that the collaboration with Grab is part of a strategy effort for the Southeast Asian market and is expected to help capture Southeast Asian tourists, especially Grab users.
"This collaboration is part of a strategy to work on the Southeast Asian market with 50 percent of international arrivals in this region dominated by Southeast Asian countries themselves. Grab has a large number of users in this region, including millennials who use Grab to fulfill their daily needs," said Arief, in a press release on Thursday (11/15/2018).
Arief Yahya was present with Acting Marketing Deputy 1, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, and Co-Branding Team of the Ministry of Tourism. Grab was represented by Hooi Ling Tan, Co-founder of Grab, Ridzki Kramadibrata, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia, Ongki Kurniawan, Executive Director of Grab Indonesia, and Lionel Yeo, CEO Advisor of Grab.
"Grab has followed up on this collaboration by promoting 10 Priority Destinations, and providing services that make it easier for tourists to travel in various locations in Indonesia," continued Arief Yahya.
The target of this collaboration is the promotion of the Indonesian Calendar of Events, promoting the Hot Deals program, and promotion of 10 Priority Destinations.
Lionel Yeo, CEO Advisor of Grab, said he is happy to be able to work with the Ministry of Tourism to increase worldwide branding through Wonderful Indonesia.
"Mobile penetration in Southeast Asia is growing very fast, and the region is spending more and more time online, mostly through mobile connectivity. We see a great opportunity to serve customers better by providing information about new tourist destinations, even booking travel packages in the Grab application. We also did that with Wonderful Indonesia," explained Lionel.
