MONTE CARLO, NETRALNEWS.COM - Novak Djokovic has advanced to the quarter-finals of Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters after playing dominantly against American Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday (04/18/2019) local time.

The world number one converted six of 10 break points in a 68-minute match and now has 15 wins from 18 tour-level meetings this season.

"It's very challenging to play in conditions like this. Taylor plays very fast and has great service. He can't really master the clay game, but he has done the best in this tournament," Djokovic said as quoted by, Friday (4/19).

Djokovic is trying to seize his third trophy at the Monte-Carlo Country Club after the 2013 and 2015 editions.

Fritz was also motivated to become the first American to reach the quarter-finals at Monte-Carlo since Sam Querrey in 2008. However, Djokovic was too strong for him.

Meanwhile, Djokovic will meet 10th seed Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals. "Daniil has greatly improved his game. He is really in the best performance and has a good tournament so far," he said.
