BARACELONA, NNC - Barcelona captain Lionel Messi will miss three weeks of matches after he suffered a fracture on his right arm when his team won 4-2 over Sevilla in La Liga, the club said.
The injury forced him to miss the Clasico match against eternal rivals Real Madrid on October 28.
Ousmane Dembele replaced Messi in the 25th minute after the Argentine was examined by club doctors on the sidelines, following his duel with Sevilla's Franco Vazquez.
"Of course this is a loss. We know what he gives us, and what we miss when he is not around. We have to overcome it and will make preparations. It is clear that we will look at his absence, but we will overcome it. And we have a number of resources, even though we will face a number of very heavy teams," said Barca coach Ernesto Valverde, quoted by Antara on Sunday (10/21/2018).
In addition to the Clasico match, the Argentine will also miss playing in Champions League matches hosting Inter Milan on Wednesday and the match in Milan on November 6.
