BANGKOK, NNC – MotoGP veteran rider Valentino Rossi claimed he is pessimistic ahead of the Thailand GP race which will take place this weekend or Sunday (10/7/2018). Rossi accepts the possibility of Jorge Lorenzo taking third place.
Valentino Rossi's statement was due to the poor performance of his Yamaha M1 motorbike throughout the 2018 MotoGP which he considered unable to compete for the world title.
Nevertheless, Rossi was still able to sit in third place after having been in second place for several series.
"I have a 29-point advantage over Maverick Vinales and [Lorenzo] but he appeared very strong in the second half. So I think it will be very difficult to maintain third position. But of course I will try to be consistent and gain points," Rossi said as quoted by Crash.
Rossi's success in the 2018 MotoGP third rank is inseparable from a number of mistakes made by Ducati duo, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso.
On paper, the Ducati duo always have better speed than Rossi and Vinales. But Dovizioso and Lorenzo failed several times so that made Rossi – who never failed to finish – does better than Lorenzo at the moment.
