Lorenzo Starts at the Lead at San Marino GP

SAN MARINO, NNC - Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo took the lead start position in San Marino MotoGP for Sunday's race (9/9/2018), after recording the fastest time in the qualifying round on Saturday (9/8).

Lorenzo improved his own record created in 2016 with one minute 31.692 seconds, ahead of Ducati team rider Jack Miller from Australia and Yamaha Maverick Vinales.

World champion Marc Marques, who defended Honda, was five minutes behind at the end of the training session, but managed to rise to second five after Andrea Dovizioso of the Ducati Team.

Nin-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi of Yamaha, who missed last year due to injury and currently occupies the second position behind Marquez, finished ninth.
