Grouped with Barca and Spurs, Zanetti Wants Inter to Stay Optimistic

MONACO, NNC - Inter Milan must accept their fate after the 2018/2019 Champions League draw results put them in Group B with Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and PSV Eindhoven.

Although grouped with heavy competitors, Inter Vice President Javier Zanetti asked his club to remain optimistic to win the ticket to the knockout round.

"We know there are a lot of very strong teams in this tournament and we ended up in a difficult group. But, the team will prepare everything well," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"We are aware of the difficulties we face but we are Inter and must think positively. Barcelona is more than just Lionel Messi, they have other great players who can do extraordinary things and also a team that maintains ball possession very nicely," he continued.

In Group G, two of the four teams participating were champions in their respective Leagues, Barcelona in La Liga and PSV in the Eredivisie. While Tottenham although was not a champion in the English Premier League, but their performance has been able to compensate for the top clubs in Europe. The last few seasons, Mauricio Pochetino's men have always been the top four subscribers in the Premier League.
