LONDON, NNC – Arsenal manager Unay Emery remains happy despite his team being defeated by Chelsea in the second week of the English Premier League. According to Emery, Arsenal have played well.
On a tour match to Stamford Bridge on Saturday (8/18/2018), Arsenal surrendered from host Chelsea with a score of 2-3.
Arsenal conceded by Pedro Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata in the nineth and 20th minutes. At the end of the first half, the score returned equally strong.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi restored Arsenal's chances through goals in the 37th and 41st minutes. In the second half, the match went even tighter and Chelsea scored a decisive goal through Marcos Alonso in the 81st minute.
The game started with many opportunities created. Chelsea were dominant with ball possession up to 62 percent, with 24 shots and 11 of them on target. While Arsenal have 15 trials, six led to the goal.
"We wanted to win. This has always been the way to play, but it is clear that we have conceded three goals. But also we had the opportunity to score more goals. Indeed the results are 3-2, but we also think that we had a chance to make goals more," Emery told the BBC.
