Questioning Quality, Mou: MU is Behind Its Rivals

Jose Mourinho.

MUNICH, NNC – Manchester United (MU) manager Jose Mourinho claims he still has doubts on the quality of his team ahead of the English Premier League competition. Mourinho also said Manchester United is still behind its rivals.

In order to overcome this unfavorable situation, Jose Mourinho hints on acquiring new players in the 2018 summer transfer market.

This summer, Manchester United has brought in three new players, namely Diogo Dalot, Lee Grant, and Fred.However. Mourinho admitted that he needed one or two more players before the transfer market closed on Thursday (8/9/2018).

"Our CEO knows who the players I want to (for the team). We still have a few days to wait and see what will happen," Mourinho said.

"Our competitors are very strong and have extraordinary squads. They invested heavily as Liverpool did by buying a lot of players. If we cannot improve the quality of the team, it is very difficult to compete in the championship lane," Mourinho continued, as reported by Sky Sports.

Mourinho failed to provide victory in the final match of the season. Manchester United lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Sunday (8/5).

Manchester United will face Leicester City in the opening party of the English Premier League, at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester, Friday (8/10) local time.
