BRNO, NNC - Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso will start in first position at the Czech Grand Prix on Sunday (08/04), with veteran MotoGP ricer Valentino Rossi starting in second place.
Reigning world champion Marc Marquez is to start his 100th race in the highest level of MotoGP from third position.
The pole position for Dovizioso is the first since the Malaysia Grand Prix in 2016. The Italian rider was 0.267 seconds faster than fellow Italian Rossi, with the best lap time at one minute and 54.689 seconds.
In addition, the second gridline will include Spanish and Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo, Carl Crutchlow from LCR Honda, and Danilo Petrucci from Pramac Ducati.
Meanwhile, four-time MotoGP champion Marquez won the race at Czech Grand Prix last year, and led Rossi by 46 points after nine races.
