MANCHESTER, NNC – Manchester United (MU) manager Jose Mourinho is still hungry to get his hands on new players to bolster his current squad, and plans to add new ammunition.
Jose Mourinho, who is undergoing pre-season matches with MU, said he wants to bring in two more players. However, the Portuguese coach is reluctant to disclose the names of the two other players.
As was known, MU has landed three new players in the summer transfer market in 2018 – Fred, Diogo Dalot, and Lee Grant. Nonetheless, those names seem to be unsufficient for Mourinho.
Rumors are circulating that MU is now targeting Harry Maguire (Leicester City), Miralem Pjanic (Juventus), and Ivan Perisic (Inter Milan).
"What I want is not necessarily going to happen, but I want to get two more players," Mourinho said as quoted by Soccerway.
On the occasion, Mourinho also talked about the crisis the team is facing as Antonio Valencia and new player Diogo Dalot are battling injuries.
"I do not think Valencia will be available to play any of the three International Champions Cup matches - this is not a moment to take risks. Valencia is not a young player anymore, we have to take care of him and try to get him ready for the start of the season.
“We bought fantastic players, such as Dalot, he is young, only 19 years old, but he underwent surgery last May and is still in the recovery phase,” Mourinho added.
