BANDUNG, NETRALNEWS.COM – Persib Bandung football club has finally spoken about the issue that mentioned former Arsenal star Robin van Persie becoming the club’s target next season.
Zaneuri Hasyim, Commissioner of Persib Bandung, said the club so far has not established contact with van Persie.
Previously, rumors spread that the former Manchester United player was interested in playing football in Indonesia. In fact, several media in Turkey have reported van Persie’s rumor of him being targeted by Indonesian football club Persib Bandung.
"I do not know about [the van Persie] issue, and there is no such news on him here. The media can write about anything they want, but there are no issues on Robin van Persie here,” Zaenuri said to reporters on Thursday (11/02/2017).
Zaenuri said Persib Bandung’s management is focusing on evaluating the team after a poor season in the Liga 1 competition. The club is set to focus on finding a replacement for coach Emral Abus.
"We will gather first to discuss who the coach and local players [which will be maintained] including the evaluation of the competition yesterday [this season]," he explained.
"Then [in the meeting] preparing for next year, we will get together first, the faster the better," said Zaenuri.
