JAKARTA, NNC - Samsung reportedly is designing a smartspeaker using Bixby virtual assistant at an affordable price, according to The Verge on Saturday, Dec 30.
Last August, Samsung promises to launch a Galaxy Home smartspeaker with Bixby. Its a premium product to rival Apple's HomePod or Amazon's Echo Plus.
A cheaper version of a Bixby smartspeaker is currently being developed, the SM-V310 model, while its premium version is the SM-V510.
Its still unknown of the lite version of the Bixby smartspeaker, but its expected to not be that different from what Samsung announced for the Galaxy Home, which is a built-in speaker, subwoofer and eight microphones.
Samsung does not want to leak much information on the Galaxy Home speakers since last August. Many suspects that the Galaxy Home will be unveiled a the 2019 CES that takes place early January in Las Vegas, US.
Making smartspeakers in two models, premium and low-end versions are expected to make Samsung secure a place in the market so that it can compete with competitors like Google and Amazon, citing Antara.
