JAKARTA, NNC - A while ago, Xiaomi President Lin Bin confirmed the launch rumor of a phone with a 48MP camera sensor in January 2019, but did not mention the device's name.

The India Today reported the circulation of a poster containing image of a Redmi Pro 2, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 chipset.

The Redmi Pro's successor reportedly will sport a punch-hole display like the Honor View 20, Huawei Nova 4 or Samsung Galaxy A8s.

The punch-hole screen is actually a selfie camera embedded in the screen. If so, the Redmi Pro 2 will be Xiaomi's first smartphone that uses the screen design.

In addition, its back body will be layered in glass while its front panel will come with a thick bezel, unlike other premium phones that uses thin bezel.

Xiaomi will sport three rear cameras, with a main 48MP sensor, while its other lenses will have wide angle.

The device will also use LCD screen from BOE, a Chinese company.

With this design, this Redmi line is expected to no longer be a device with an affordable price as it has sports a 48MP camera.

Meanwhile, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 chipset which was just launched last October, is equipped with gaming capabilities and supports AI (artificial intelligence), citing Antara.
