LOS ANGELES, NNC - Stan Lee, the creator of Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and a parade of other Marvel Comics superheroes, has passed away at the age of 95 years, on Monday local time or Tuesday (11/13) Indonesian time.

As a writer and editor, Lee was the key to the success of Marvel in entering the world of comics in the 1960s when Lee, collaborating with artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, created superheroes that attracted the hearts of a younger generation of readers.

"He felt obliged to keep on creating for fans," said his daughter J.C. Lee in a statement, as quoted by Antara.

"He loved his life and liked his work. Family and fans love him. He is irreplaceable," she said. Stan Lee's daughter did not mention the cause of her father's death, but TMZ said an ambulance was called to a house in Hollywood Hills early Monday, and Stan Lee passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

"Stan Lee is an extraordinary person like the characters he created," said Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Co in a statement.

"The scale of his imagination is only surpassed by the greatness of his heart." Disney bought Marvel Entertainment in 2009 for US$ 4 billion to enrich the list of Disney characters, and most of the iconic characters were Lee's work.

Lee is known for his cameo roles in most Marvel films. He saved a girl who would be crushed by ruins in "Spider-Man" (2002), then became an MC at the strip club in "Deadpool" (2016). In the film "Black Panther", which shows Lee's black super hero, he becomes a casino visitor.

"For decades he gave both young and old people an experience, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and happiness." Americans are familiar with super heroes before Lee, one of the factors being the presence of Superman from Detective Comics in 1983, the company that will become DC Comics, rival Marvel.

Lee is known for giving a touch of complexity and the human side to superheroes. The characters he made were not figures made of stone, even though they looked like they were carved from iron. They have love and worries about money, have weaknesses or insecurities.

"Characters aren't just super" I think it would be interesting to know more about their personal lives, about their personalities and show that they are besides super-permanent and human, "Lee told NPR News in 2010.

He also helped design superheroes, but he promoted it without help.

Lee's works include Spider-Man, Hulk, mutants in X-Men, Fantastic Four and Tony Stark the playboy who is also Iron Man.

Dozens of films from Marvel Comics, which almost all of Lee's main characters were created, were first produced in the first decade of the 21st century, gaining gross revenues of more than US$ 20 billion in cinemas around the world, based on box office analyst data.

Stan Lee was born in New York on December 28, 1922 under the name Stanley Martin Lieber. He was the son of Jewish immigrants from Romania.

At the age of 17, he became a messenger at Timely Comics, a company that would develop into Marvel.

He got a job thanks to the help of an insider, his uncle, based on Lee's autobiography entitled "Excelsior!" Lee then learned to write and promote. He wrote Western stories and romantic stories, as well as the stories of superheroes and wrote more often while standing on the porch of Long Island, New York, the house that was occupied with his wife, actress Joan Lee who was married in 1947. Joan Lee died in 2017.

The couple are blessed with two children, Joan Celia who was born in 1950 and Jan Lee who died three days after being born in 1953.
