JAKARTA, NNC - French smartphone maker Wiko re-enlivened the Indonesian market after being absent for a year.
This time Wiko launched the Tommy 3 smartphone series equipped with virtual SIM card technology.
"We present a product with new technology, virtual SIM card, the first product in Indonesia," said Wiko Indonesia CEO Taufik Syahbuddin in the launch of Wiko Tommy 3 series in Jakarta, Thursday (11/1/2018).
Taufik explained virtual SIM card allows consumers to connect to the internet without SIM card and Wi-Fi.
"We are working with Skyroam SIMO through an application embedded in the smartphone. This application is pre-installed," he said.
Wiko launched Tommy 3 and Tommy 3Plus which are present in the market segment below IDR2 million.
"This market segment is developing so fast and the market is so big. This is what drives Wiko to launch the Tommy 3 series. So it is hoped that it can add variants to consumers in Indonesia," said Product Manager Wiko Indonesia, Adikusumo.
In addition to virtual SIM card technology, Adikusumo explained that the Tommy 3 series carries a Fullview design and laser coating technology for the back cover, specifically for Tommy 3 Plus.
"This glass-like back cover is one that our colleagues don't have in this segment," Adi said.
Another benefit offered by Wiko for consumers is a 120-day product replacement guarantee if there is a factory defect.
"With guarantees like this we believe our products are of high quality, and can provide convenience to consumers," Adi said.
