JAKARTA NNC - President Jokowi Widodo (Jokowi) will attend the 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore next week from Nov 13-15. After the summt, the president is scheduled to head to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to attend the APEC Summit on November 17-18.
This was conveyed by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi after a meeting at the National Palace on Thursday, Nov 8. Retno said the president's agenda in Singapore will be very tight. In addition to attending the summit, Jokowi is also schedule to conduct a number of bilateral meetings.
Minister Retno says there will be two main issues to be conveyed by the president Jokowi in Singapore. First is concerning the Indo Pacific concept, especially in the East Asia Summit (EAS) meeting.
"In the past few years, at least one and a half years ago, we have conducted intensive consultations with both ASEAN members and ASEAN partners," Retno said.
