Dutch Queen’s Sister Dies of Apparent Suicide

JAKARTA, NNC - The youngest sister of Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Ines Zorreguieta (33), was found dead at her residence, in Buenos Aires, Argentina as reported by the BBC, Friday (6/82018).

Ines is suspected to have died from apparent suicide. The Daily Mail reported that Ines died by hanging herself.

On the death of her sister, Queen Maxima who is from Argentina, was reportedly very surprised and sad. She immediately canceled some of her agenda in the next few days, including state visits to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

According to reports, Inés Zorreguieta had suffered from depression. A Dutch government spokesman told Dutch NOS TV that her death appeared to be a suicide. She was working as a civil servant in Buenos Aires.

Ines was her sister's bride's maid when Maxima married the Crown Prince of the Netherlands, Prince Willem-Alexander in 2002.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Routes in his statement claimed to be surprised by the news. "It's so sad and a difficult news to be accepted for those left behind," Mark said.
