JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Jakarta Metro Police have arrested 29 people suspected of committing international cyber crime in Indonesia. They were arrested at Jalan Sekolah Duta Raya, Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, on Saturday (7/29/2017) afternoon.

"It is suspected that they have committed cross-country cyber crime, based on the equipments they used, they have committed fraud on victims in China," Didik said on Saturday.
He explained that the perpetrators committed fraud by claiming to be members of the police and others. "So they blackmail people there [in China], but they called the victims from Jakarta," he said.
Didik said seven people had tried to escape by jumping to the rooftop of the building next to the location. However, the perpetrators' escape attempts were successfully prevented.
