BMKG Warns of Potential Heavy Rain in These Areas

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesia Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a wather forecast release onThursday (04/18/2019) for the next two days until Saturday (04/20/2019).

Based on BMKG observations, the West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara regions are not expected to experience rain for the next two days. According to BMKG's observation, low concentrated air masses are concentrated in most parts of Indonesia except West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara.

Despite entering dry seaon, over the next two days (4/20/2019) there are several areas that may experience rainfall, among others: North Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten, Central Java, Yogyakarta, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Papua and Papua.

Regions with potential heavy rain and lightning include areas of Aceh, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, West Java, Greater Jakarta, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan. In addition to April 20, the potential for lightning and strong winds will spread to North Sulawesi and Maluku.

BMKG has warned to the public about heavy rain that generate strong winds and lightning, because it can trigger fallen trees, fallen billboards, floods and inundations.
