Jakarta Governor Agrees on Jakarta MRT Tariff of IDR10,000 per 10 Km

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan (special)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has finally agreed to the Jakarta MRT tariff of IDR 10,000 per 10 kilometers (km). This tariff is different from the results of the Jakarta Regional Representatives (DPRD) meeting on Monday (3/25/2019), which approved the Lebak Bulus-HI MRT tariff of IDR 8,500.

The MRT tariff of IDR 10,000 per kilometer was previously discussed with the Chairperson of the Jakarta DPRD Prasetio Edi Marsudi.

"It has been discussed a lot. The translation can be two. If it is calculated per 10 km, then 10,000. If it is an average of 8,500 because of Lebak bulus to HI is IDR 14,000," Anies said at the Jakarta DPRD Building, Tuesday (3/26/2019 )

The minimum tariff for passengers will be IDR 3,000. Tap in and tap out at the same station will be subject to a minimum rate of IDR 3,000.

The tariff of IDR10,000 / 10 km consists of two components, namely the boarding fee pegged at IDR 1,500 plus unit price per kilometer (price per kilometer) multiplied by distance. The tariff of IDR 10,000 / 10 km per unit price per peg is set at IDR 850.

With this tariff, the amount of subsidies that will be issued by the Jakarta Provincial Government would reach IDR 672 billion by the end of 2019.

The amount of subsidies comes from the projections of MRT passengers as many as 65,000 people/day, with the amount of subsidies per passenger reaching IDR 21,659. Thus, the more the number of passengers, the subsidies will be reduced.
