North Jakarta Police Arrest Two Individuals over Hijacking of Pertamina Tanker Trucks (pertamina)

JAKARTA, NNC - The North Jakarta Police has named two people as suspects in the hijacking Pertamina's tanker trucks on Monday.

North Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Comr. Budhi Herdi Susianto said the two suspects who were held were acting as intellectual actor and executor of the hijacking.

"There are two who have been detained, one of them having the initials M who acted as the perpetrator of the act, then the other with the initials N who acted as an intellectual actor who planned and ordered the seizure," said Budhi.

Budhi explained that there were 16 people who were allegedly involved in the hijacking of the tanker trucks. Two people have been detained, while 14 others are still in pursuit.

The arrests and naming of the suspects were carried out by North Jakarta Police because the hiijacking took place in the North Jakarta jurisdiction.

The two tanker trucks were hijacked in two different locations on Monday (3/18) at around 05.00 Indonesian Western Time at the Ancol toll gate and the Podomoro toll gate.

"The threat of punishment is over nine years," Budhi said, as quoted by Antara, on Tuesday (03/19/2019).

The two 32,000 kiloliter biodiesel tank trucks were then taken to the SP-AMT demonstration site in front of the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta.

The two trucks have been seized by the police and sent back to the Pertamina Plumpang Depot.
