PEKANBARU, NNC  - A total of 12 kilograms of methamphethamines, locally known as shabu-shabu, from Malaysia has been seized in five different locations by the Riau Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate.

The Riau Regional Police Narcotics Detective Directorate confiscated 12 kilograms of shabu-shabu from Malaysia from sting operations in five different locations on the area.

Head of the Wasidik Division of the Riau Regional Police Directorate, AKBP Defryanto, said that the Riau Regional Police had seized 12 kilograms of shabu-shabu from Malaysia.

"The origin is still the same as we thought from across (Malaysia)," said AKBP Defryanto in Pekanbaru, Thursday (03/14/2019).

Defryanto further stated that in addition to confiscating shabu-shabu, the police also confiscated 5,000 ecstasy pills.

"All the shabu-shabu worth more than IDR10 billion were confiscated from 11 suspects in five different locations," he said.

According to him, the first disclosure was made on February 27, 2019 in Siak Regency. Eight kilograms of methamphetamine were seized from two MS and Iw suspects.

"Two days later, the police returned to an arrest in a rented house in Bengkalis Regency. Four suspects were arrested from the arrest. Besides confiscating drugs, the police also confiscated 5,000 ecstasy pills," Defryanto said.

After that the police again managed to arrest a suspect with the initials MZ with evidence of 20.87 grams of shabu-shabu in Pekanbaru City.

"They are all from different networks," he said.

He claimed to continue to develop investigations of these disclosures, including investigating allegations of money laundering from the business of distributing illicit goods.

"The TPPU is still being explored, so is the dealer above them. Their system is cut off," he explained.
