SEMARANG, NNC – Enhancing insights on the best practices of business development in manufacturing, the Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation (YDBA) invited 42 of its SME Manufacturing Partners to benchmark with one of the Astra Group companies in Semarang, PT GS Battery.
The activity that invites Manufacturing SMEs from Klaten, Tegal, Semarang, Yogyakarta and Waru Sidoarjo was filled with sharing of business development’s best practice of PT GS Battery Semarang.
In this session, PT GS Battery conveyed how business development practices were carried out, strategies to face business competition, innovations carried out and how PT GS Battery implemented 5 pillars in its business, namely HRD, production, markets, finance, EHS & CSR.
In this benchmark, there was also a sharing session about Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety (LK3) with speakers from the Chair of the Safety, Healty & Environment (SHE) Committee of PT GS Battery, Priyo Jati Kesumo.
Priyo explained the importance of LK3, the dangers and factors of hazard in the workplace, compliance with the law, causes and consequences of workplace accidents and efforts to prevent workplace accidents.
Present at the benchmarking activity were Deputy Head of Training and Mentoring Department, Aloysius Daniel Harbianto and Head of Plant Division of PT GS Battery Semarang, A. Rofik Cholid.
Elfas, one of the SME members of the leading sector from Tegal expressed his hope in this activity.
"Because I am in the process of relocating the factory, I hope this benchmark can give knowledge of machine layout and rules of Environment, Health and Work Safety. So that it can be applied in my factory. I also want to know how the 5R was effectively implemented by PT GS Battery," said the 34-year-old man in his press release on Saturday (11/10/2018).
