JAKARTA, NNC - The democratic index in Indonesia during the four years of Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla's administration has been going well.

"There is an increase. This means that there is an improvement in our national political life," said Coordinating Minister for Political, Security, and Legal Affairs Wiranto during the presentation of the achievements of the Four Years of Government Performance of Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla at the State Secretariat, Jakarta, on Thursday (25/10).

The rise in the democracy index in Indonesia shows the continuous improvement efforts made by the government in politics.

Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2017 showed the Indonesian Democracy Indication or IDI 2017 reaching 72.11 on a scale of 0 to 100. This figure was higher compared to the 2016 IDI figure of 70.09.

"There are 26 indicators that can be guaranteed that democracy in Indonesia happens well," said the former Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander.

The retired four-star general did not deny that there were a number of indicators on the democratic index that experienced a decline. However, the Jokowi-JK Wiranto government were able to control them.

"Political stability is fluctuating. But, it doesn't boil," he said.

Indicators of the cause of the decline in the democratic index, include the use of state facilities for candidates, reports on the activities of civil servants supporting political parties, and heralded neutrality of civil servants.
