JAKARTA, NNC - The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) stated that the success of the 2018 Asian Games was a momentum to improve the achievements of Indonesian athletes at the world level.
The statement was delivered directly by the Chairman of the Central KONI Organization, Maj. Gen. Indonesian Armed Forces (ret.) Nanang Djuana Priadi, Wednesday (10/17/2018).
"The success of the Asian Games is a moment to improve Indonesia's achievements in the face of international events," said Nanang in a coordination meeting and KONI consultation session at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.
He explained Indonesia was successful in the 2018 Asian Games, especially judging by the achievements made, which ranked fourth with the acquisition of 31 gold medals.
"During the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, we ranked 17th with the acquisition of four gold medals. Of course, this 2018 Asian Games was a success," Nanang said.
Furthermore, he revealed that the holding of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang also drew a lot of praise from the international community. "Thus, it can be said that the implementation of the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia was successful. We should be proud," said Nanang.
