KUPANG, NNC - The Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) present bonuses to three local provincial athletes who strengthened the Indonesian contingent at the 2018 Asian Games in the form of cash of IDR15 million each.
The three athletes are Marselina Tamu, a 4x400-meter relay runner, as well as two boxing athletes, namely Mario Blasius Kali and Libertus Gha.
NTT Deputy Governor, Yosef Nae Soi in Kupang on Thursday appreciated the fighting spirit of the three athletes who have made the nation's name and NTT proud.
"Thank you for representing NTT and Indonesia. Even though they haven't won the championship, they fought to make NTT proud," he said.
In addition to bonuses from the provincial government, the three also received a cash bonus of IDR5 million per person from KONI NTT.
Nae Soi said the bonus given by the provincial government might not much, but he hoped it could be a motivation for athletes.
"Hopefully this bonus can motivate them to fight even harder for higher achievements in the next national or international tournament," he was quoted as saying by Antara.
