JAKARTA, NNC – Secretary General of the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT), Anwar Sanusi emphasized the importance of village community consultation in village development decisions related to the use of Village Funds.
According to him, all village communities must seriously develop Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) accompanied by village stakeholders.
"The name BUMDes is a joint effort, where the most important decisions are at village meetings. Once established, we think about how to grow, not just to stand still. Find the right business unit," he said, upon receiving visits from village heads, district heads, and the director of the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in the Jayawijaya Regency, Papua at the Kemendes PDTT’s office, Jakarta, Friday (8/24/2018).
Jayawijaya Regency now has 154 BUMDes from 328 villages.
Secretary General Anwar Sanusi reminded that the entire BUMDes that were only established in 2018 should not only be a signboard. Even though only recently established, he invited all BUMDes to start their business activities.
"Village funds can be used for the development of BUMDes. We just need to think about what kind of effort. We don't want only the spirit of BUMDes that has been established but there is no activity. No," he insisted.
