JAKARTA, NNC - The impact of economic losses due to the earthquake in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is very large. Deputy for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) continues to calculate damage and losses due to earthquakes in NTB, both the 6.4 SR earthquakes on 7/29/2018 and 7 SR earthquakes on 8/5/2018.
Preliminary results of quick counts of damage and losses reach more than IDR5.04 Trillion. This figure is temporary, based only on the database on 8/9/2018.
Damage and losses came from the housing sector amounts to IDR3.82 trillion, infrastructure IDR7.5 billion, productive economy IDR432.7 billion, social culture IDR716.5 billion, and cross-sector IDR61.9 billion. Most damage and losses affect the housing sector, where in reality tens of thousands of houses were severely damaged.
By region, the most damage and losses occur in in North Lombok Regency which reached more than IDR2.7 trillion. Whereas in West Lombok District reached more than IDR1.5 trillion, East Lombok IDR417.3 billion, Central Lombok IDR174.4 billion and Mataram City IDR242.1 billion. The impact of economic damage and losses in Bali is still being calculated.
