Fadli Zon: Gov’t Mulls Reshuffling, Considering Coalitions

House Deputy Speaker Fadli Zon.

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Fadli Zon, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for Politics, Legal, and Human Rights, says the government is almost certain to conduct cabinet reshuffle, considering several Ministers are set to engage in Gubernatorial Elections. In addition, the Jokowi "Jokowi" Widodo-Jusuf "JK" Kalla government is also reported considering the pro-government coalitions.

“There are rumors of reshuffling in politics. Some Ministers are eyeing to participate in Gubernatorial Elections, and the coalition is going to be put into consideration again,” Fadli said to reporters at the Nusantara III Building, Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta, on Wednesday (11/01/2017).

He mentioned that Social Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa has confirmed her participation in the East Java gubernatorial race, which raises the need for cabinet reshuffling.

“I do not know just how many ministers will have their positions reshuffled. Let’s see this month,” Fadli said.

He added that there would not be any problems of Democratic Party to join the Jokowi-JK government in the future. “It’s a political choice,” said Fadli, who is also Vice Chairperson of Partai Gerindra.

“What is clear is that Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto did not mention any information on Democratic Party joining the government’s coalition,” Fadli added.
