Jokowi Inaugurates National Library Service Facility Building

President Joko Widodo inaugurates the national library service facility building.

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate the National Library service facility building in Jakarta on Thursday (9/14/2017).

In a written statement received from Public Relations of the National Library, the President will be accompanied by Minister of National Education Muhadjir Effendi, the National Library Director Muh. Syarif Bando, and Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

The facility stands on an area of 11,975 square meters with a building area of 50,917 square meters, a height of 126.3 meters, with 24 floors and three basements. It is claimed to be the highest library building in the world.

The service facility has a "green building" concept with an energy consumption index (IKE) of 150 kwh/mm2 per year, similar to buildings in Singapore and Malaysia.

The building was built using multi-year budget (2013-2016) costing IDR465.207.300.000. It is also equipped with an inclusive service designed to serve people with disabilities in terms of infrastructure, collections, and special rooms for the people with sight disability.
