PKB Submits East Java Deputy Governor Candidate Name to PDI-P

SURABAYA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Central Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB) has handed the name of its candidate for Vice Governor of East Java to the DPP of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) for the 2018 East Java gubernatorial election.

"We have submitted the name of our deputy governor candidate to PDI-P, and we will respect any person PDI-P will nominate,” said Muhaimin Iskandar, Chairman of PKB in Surabaya on Wednesday (9/13/2017).

Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, claimed that his party have partnered with PDI-P and its coalition on the East Java governor election that will be held on June 27, 2018. PDI-P’s coalition has nominated Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) as a candidate for East Java Governor.

"We have communicated and declared coalition for East Java Election, including will hold other political parties to carry the same pair," he said.

When asked about the prospective partner for Gus Ipul , Muhaimin said he did not want to speculate about it, and fully handed the decision to choose Gus Ipul’s running mate to the party’s coalition.

In PDI-P, some of the prospective names include Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini, Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas, Ngawi Regent Budi Sulistyono, and Chairman of PDI-P East Java Kusnadi.
