JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Fire has broken out at Jalan Anggrek Murni, Kemanggisan, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Friday (8/25/2017). Several people were wounded by the fire, including a five-year old boy who was rushed to the hospital for burns. The fire also damaged seven houses.
Rompis Romlih, Chief of West Jakarta Office of Fire and Rescue Agency, said on Friday (8/25/2017) that the fire was triggered by a gas canister that exploded at a Padang food restaurant. 16 fire trucks were dispatched to the location, and firefighters—with the help of citizens, were able to extinguish the fire in about one and a half hours.
Police Commissioner Armunanto, Chief of Palmerah Police, said several damaged properties that were identified include the Padang food restaurant, a tire workshop, Tegal food restaurant, an office, and three houses.
As a result of the incident, there were four people from the family owned Padang restaurant that suffered burns from the fire, including their 5-year old child. The victims were immediately rushed to Pelni Hospital in Petamburan.
