JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The event Europalia Arts Festival Indonesia, Directorate General of Culture of Ministry of Education and Culture Hilmar Farid said, becomes the momentum for the world to learn from Indonesia. As for Indonesia, Hilmar said, Europalia Arts Festival 2017 is an opportunity to introduce to the world.

Moreover, said Hilmar, European countries are experiencing problems, one of them is about living side by side with others. "When talking about diversity, Indonesia is the champion," Hilmar said after the Soft Launching of Europalia Arts Festival Indonesia at Sapta Pesona Building at Ministry of Tourism, Thursday (8/31/2017).

Another reason the world needs to learn from Indonesia, said Hilmar, is hereditary-wise Indonesia is also not free from various problems. But with various differences, Indonesia can still maintain diversity into one unity.

"Europalia Arts Festival Indonesia is a Bhinneka Tunggal Ika [Unity in Diversity] at the practical level in the arts language. There is a mission to present and show the ability in seeing the differences," said Himar.

For information, one of the world's largest international arts scene will take place in seven countries in Europe from October 10, 2017 to January 21, 2018. Those seven countries are UK, France, Germany, Holland, Austria, Poland and the host Belgium.

Later, there will be about 400 artists, 220 events, 14 exhibitions and various shows such as music, theater, dance, film literature, art exhibitions and comics that have been through the selection by curators who are experts in their field. Three groups of artists that will perform are including Nani Topeng of Losari Cirebon, Contemporary Sinden Peni Chandra Rini and Mataniari Toba Batak Music Ensemble.

"Through the Europalia Arts Festival Indonesia, it is time for the world to learn from Indonesia," concluded Hilmar. (*)
