JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed down 13.32 points (-0.23 percent) to 5,800.20 at the end of trading on Wednesday (7/26/2017). The decline in the composite index is after dropping prices of 178 shares traded during the day,
Only 145 shares were up and 115 stocks were flat. The composite index movement this Wednesday is in the range of 5,785.90 (-28 points) to 5,831.64 (+18 points).
Trading volume was 8.89 billion shares with transaction frequency of 297,806 times. The total transaction value was around IDR7.55 trillion.
Meanwhile, foreign investors recorded net selling of IDR103 billion, prompted by the IDR350.02 billion net sale of Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper (INKP)'s shares in the negotiation market. Other largest net selling occurred on Astra International (ASII) amounting to IDR136.65 billion and Surya Citra Media (SCMA) IDR39.54 billion.
Only three sectors rose and the largest one was mining which rose 0.49 percent. The biggest drop occurred in the consumer sector which slumped 1.04 percent, infrastructure which sank 0.86 percent, and manufacturing which fell 0.74 percent. (*)
