PLN, Think Smart Grid Set on Developing Smart Grid System in Sulawesi (special)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS - State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with France-based Think Smart Grid (TSG) to develop a Smart Grid in the Sulawesi and Smart Micro Grid systems in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara.

The signing was carried out by the Director of Corporate Planning of PLN, Syofvi Felienty with Chair of Think Smart Grid (TSG) of France, Valerie.

The two-year memorandum of understanding signed this marked the seriousness of PLN in increasing the use of new renewable energy.

"We continue to do the development of new renewable energy to meet the target of 23% by 2025. Well, this MoU is one of the concrete steps of PLN in its alignment with EBT," Syofvi Felienty said in an official statement on Tuesday (03/19/2019).

This study will be funded by the French government, and for the Sulawesi system will be discussed in detail Renewable Energy Grid Integration.

TSG is a non-profit organization that is concerned with developing the smart grid. Its members are the electricity industry, academics, government, and electricity companies in Europe.

The task of the PLN in this MoU is to provide data, study locations, mentoring teams and capacity building by sending engineers for smart grid studies in France.
