JAKARTA, NNC - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), also known as BCA, targets its credit growth in 2019 to reach 10 percent.

"The target is for BCA to increase its lending this year between 8 percent and 10 percent," said BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja in Jakarta, Thursday (2/28/2019).

Jahja is optimistic that if the target can be achieved--even though 2019 is referred to as a political year--the public will face two crucial moments in the 2019 Election and Presidential Election.

Jahja explained that elections and presidential elections would not be too influential on credit growth. Jahja hopes that economic growth in Indonesia will be stable.

He continued that in 2018, BCA's credit growth target was around 9 percent. But at the level of realization, BCA's lending was able ti reach 15 percent.

In 2018, the loan portfolio increased to IDR538 trillion. Credit is dominated by the high need for business credit. Corporate loans grew 20.4 percent to IDR213.3 trillion in the same year.

Meanwhile, SME and commercial loans in 2018 increased by 13.4 percent to IDR183.8 trillion. Jahja stressed that the current business credit growth is getting higher, both investment and working capital loans.
