JAKARTA, NNC - Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has won the award as the Best Airport by Airport Magazine. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport set aside its competitors that include 103 airports (105 terminals), consisting of 13 Angkasa Pura I airports, 15 Angkasa Pura II airports, and 75 airports, Airport I (IIU) Class I, II, III and special airports serving flights pioneer.

The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) were assessed as separate terminals, considering the large number of passenger movements. "The Best Airport is achieved by T3, but the increase in facilities, services and infrastructure will continue to be carried out," said President Director of Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin in a press release received in Jakarta on Monday (12/10/2018).

Infrastructure and service facilities developments continue to be carried out, especially at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, some of which are the revitalization of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, construction of east-cross taxiways and third runways to increase capacity on the air side and also on the land side.

Furthermore, another form of infrastructure improvement that continues to be carried out by Angkasa Pura II is the plan to construct Terminal 4 (T4) which has a capacity of up to 40 million passengers. Overall, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will have a capacity of 110 million passengers.

In the future, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will carry the concept of Smart Connected Airport where later the terminals will be equipped with a number of the latest technology facilities which include the concepts of Smart Mobility, Smart Security and Smart Environment.

For the Smart Mobility concept facility, in 2019 Skytrain automation will be conducted where as well as an increase in headway to only 5 minutes, implementation of self check-in counters, self baggage drop, self boarding gate, use of Internet of Things (IoT) and other facilities where the process flow of passengers at the airport can be done independently.

In terms of operations, the full operation of the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) with the Airport Collaboration Decision Making (ACDM) concept as a vehicle for coordination between airport stakeholders will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of airport operations.

Furthermore, through the Smart Environment concept the airport will carry the Ecogreen Airport concept with the Intelligent Building Management System (IBMS), the use of electric buses and the use of solar panels that support the use of new and renewable energy.
