JAKARTA, NNC - Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), the authorized distributor of Mitsubishi light passenger and commercial vehicles in Indonesia from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), together with national aviation company Garuda Indonesia, have inaugurated the handover of the Mitsubishi XPANDER as an operational vehicle for the cabin crew Garuda Indonesia at Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten.

This inauguration was carried out by Ari Askhara, President Director of Garuda Indonesia, and Naoya Nakamura, President Director of MMKSI. The inauguration was also witnessed by Syahroni, Director of PT Aerotrans Services Indonesia; Peng Suyoto, President Director of PT Bengkalis Kuda Laut, Jimmy S Wibowo, Director of PT Universal and Joe Surya, President Director of Nusantara Group.
"Of course this is a further step from XPANDER to penetrate the fleet market in the country after success in the retail market with the demand of more than 115,000 units since its launch in 2017, as well as with total market share of 30 percent. Cooperation with Garuda Indonesia has become the largest fleet business from our current flagship Small MPV, and we will continue to expand this kind of cooperation for our next passenger vehicles, "Nakamura said in Jakarta on Tuesday (11/12).

401 XPANDER units are set aside for use by Garuda Indonesia in this fleet cooperation. In the first stage in October 2018 a total of 119 XPANDER units were operational, and in the second stage in December 2018, 282 XPANDER units were delivered.

In this collaboration, the XPANDER used is the GLS MT variant with the Sterling Silver Metallic color, which has been installed with stickers/branding decal in accordance with the character of the Garuda Indonesia company.

The units delivered in the second phase will be used as operational vehicle and shuttle transportation for Garuda Indonesia cabin crew in the Greater Jakarta area.

Garuda Indonesia President Director Ari Askhara expressed his appreciation for MMKSI's support in relation to the company's commitment to rejuvenate the operational vehicle fleet, the crew's pickup facility.

The operational vehicle pickup facility is an important part of the company's operational excellence commitment. "Especially in ensuring that the timeliness aspect in all operational lines is maintained, including the readiness of Garuda Indonesia flight crew in carrying out preparations," explained Ari.
