Minister of Transportation Supports Opening of Electric Car Charging Stations (mmksi)

JAKARTA NNC - Indonesia Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi has conveyed his support for the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) in opening electric car charging stations in Indonesia.

The support was delivered directly by the Budi Karya during the inauguration of the electric car charging stations at the BPPT Building.

"I appreciate what BPPT has done. There are at least two places for the public to to charge [their cars], so that everyone who owns an electric car can go on with completing their activities well," he said in Jakarta on Thursday (06/12).

Budi Karya continued that electric cars are the cars of the future. Therefore, it is the obligation of all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transportation, to support their existence.

"Electric cars are the cars of the future and therefore we must support them because they are related to the environment, "he said.

One of the Ministry of Transportation's concrete supports is the availability of type test facilities for electric cars. "The location of the test facility is in East Jakarta, "said the Minister of Transportation.

For information, BPPT has opened two electric car charging stations, comprising of a 50 kW Fast charging station at BPPT Jakarta, and a smart charging station 20 kW at B2TKE-BPPT Puspiptek, South Tangerang.

The two electric car charging stations look similar to a public gas refueling stations.
