JAKARTA, NNC - Toyota and the French automotive group PSA have decided to terminat joint manufacturing of small cars by 2021.

However, it will add collaboration in light commercial vehicles to be sold in France and Spain, according to French newspaper Les Echos, citing Reuters on Friday.

PSA will assemble commercial vehicles for Toyota at its Sevelnord plant in northern France, while the group's Spanish factory would manufacture Toyota's latest vehicles.

“Regarding Kolin, the initial agreement of the joint venture which was signed in January 2002 includes a close which enables each partner to review its position at a given moment," a PSA spokesperson told Reuters.
"We are in this evaluation process. Nothing has been decided,” a spokesman with PSA wrote in an emailed statement.

Toyota and PSA produces several small car models, including the PSA Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 108. Despite having a size that is equally small as a city car, those cars look different, the Antara reported.
