JAKARTA, NNC - Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation temporarily suspended licenses of airplane personnel involved in flying JT 610 aircraft for a period of 120 calendar days.
Acting Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, M. Pramintohadi Sukarno, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday requested that members of the board of directors and aircraft personnel at PT Lion Mentari Airlines be temporarily released for the sake of smooth investigation of the NTSC.
"Based on Law No. 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation and Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 121 which regulates Certification and Operating Requirements: Domestic, Flag, and Supplemental Air Carriers and considers the demands of the public for the government to publicly announce the JT 610 Lion Air plane crash. We ask through an official letter to Lion to temporarily release the members of the board of directors and airplane personnel," Praminto said as quoted by Antara.
Temporary members of the board of directors and aircraft personnel are the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, Quality Control Manager, Fleet Maintenance Management Manager and PK-LQP Release Engineer.
In order to maintain the fulfillment of the airworthiness aspects of the operation of Lion Air aircrafts, Pramintohadi also requested that the President Director of PT Lion Mentari to immediately appoint a Substitute Officer Director of Maintenance and Engineering and Quality Control Manager.
