MALANG, NNC - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (IDX:BBCA) or BCA is always committed to supporting business development in the MSME segment as one of the driving forces of the Indonesian economy. This time, BCA's efforts were realized through the 'One Chance of Million Happiness' Workshop on MSMEs which was attended by around 100 MSMEs in Malang.
Present to open the event were Head of BCA of Malang Branch Chen Lin Andrew, Head of BCA of Borobudur Branch Liciana King, and Vice President of SME & Commercial Business of BCA Ade Bachtiar.
This workshop presented several speakers, including the BCA Economist David E. Sumual who will present the digital economic landscape and a number of BCA customers who have successfully run their businesses through online business, at Savana Hotel, Malang.
"MSMEs are still one of the leading sectors, even being the main support for the Indonesian economy. Therefore, BCA continues to strive to help improve various business sectors of the community to be able to grow and advance independently. We have prepared various programs to support these efforts. Through sustainable programs such as workshops and training, BCA is always committed to facilitating MSMEs to develop its businesses in the long run," said Chen Lin Andrew.
The workshop series on MSMEs will also be held in Makassar and Samarinda. In this program BCA collaborates with Blibli.com. MSME players will receive a presentation on Digital Trend and E-Commerce, Social Media, and a sharper understanding on becoming MSME business actors.
Chen Lin Andrew added BCA's commitment to developing MSMEs in Malang City was one of BCA's contributions in facilitating and helping MSMEs in various parts of the country in developing their businesses. The Workshop for MSME players was also held in order to work on the potential of lending in the MSME sector.
This year, the MSME lending ratio is targeted to reach 20 percent of BCA's total credit portfolio. As of the first semester of 2018, MSME loans disbursed by BCA reached IDR59.9 trillion or grew 23 percent YoY.
"The role of MSMEs in the national economy is quite large. Therefore, empowerment of MSMEs in Indonesia must also be improved. We hope that through this activity we can gain the contribution of BCA in developing MSMEs in Indonesia so as to reduce unemployment, fight poverty and create superior Indonesian products that are able to compete at home and abroad," Ade Bachtiar concluded.
