JAKARTA, NNC - Journalists from abroad covering the 2018 Asian Games have visited the Main Press Center (MPC) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) to taste fresh fruits from villages and underdeveloped regions of Indonesia.

The fresh and delicious fruits offered at the MPC include Butter Avocado from Pasaman Barat Regency, Honey Starfruit from Grobogan Regency, Raja Banana from Bondowoso Regency, and Sugar Powder Salak from Karangasem Regency.

This is one of the strategies of the Ministry of Villages for the Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDTT) as an effort to expose Indonesia's natural wealth to the international world.

As conveyed by the Director General of Development of Disadvantaged Regions (PDT) of the Ministry of Villages Samsul Widodo, if a good impression arises from journalists, it will have a good impact when they return to their respective countries.

"Pasaman Barat falls into the category of underdeveloped areas, but it turns out to have tremendous potential. This event will be used well to introduce tropical fruits to athletes, foreign journalists and state guests at the 2018 Asian Games, "he said, Monday (08/28/2018).

Fruit treats at the MPC which were attended by 3,000 journalists from 45 countries participating in the 2018 Asian Games were designed to make this place comfortable to work for journalists.

The fruits that were served were in cooperation with the Ministry of Villages and the Regopantes agency to market the village's leading products.
