JAKARTA, NNC - Indonesia Statistics (BPS) released data on the increase of economic growth in regions in Indonesia.
In the data, economic growth from the first quarter of 2014 to the second quarter of 2018 shows that areas with the most impact in terms of economic structure are on provinces in Java and Sumatra. Both contribute the most to gross domestic product.
"Java and Sumatra are the biggest contributors to GDP, Java at 58.61 percent and Sumatra at 21.54 percent, while Kalimantan at 8.05 percent and Sulawesi at 6.20 percent. The remaining amount is 5.60 percent," said Head of Indonesia Statistics (BPS), Suhariyanto in Jakarta, Monday (8/6/2018).
According to him, the growth of Eastern Indonesia in Papua is the highest, this is because of the mining factor, but there is still a lot of homework to worn on to build the eastern region so that inequality with the west region gets smaller.
Indonesia Statistics (BPS) released a positive note in the second quarter of 2018 on purchasing power and Indonesia's household consumption levels. At the last acquisition, purchasing power grew by 5.14 percent.
"Retail sales grew well, also sales of wholesale motorcycles and passenger cars," said Suhariyanto.
