JAKARTA, NNC - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR.JK) has decided to suspend all construction activities on elevated projects or parts, including bridges.
This followed a moratorium issued by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and the Ministry of Transportation regarding the suspension of the construction of floating projects.
Corporate Secretary of Jasa Marga M Agus Setiawan disclosed this is a step to anticipate work accident in project development. "In addition, the project development in non-elevated/at grade sections is still being implemented by taking into account and implementing the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3), as well as the applicable standards and procedures," he said in a release in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/21/2018).
Some of Jasa Marga's suspended construction projects related to the moratorium are the Jakarta-Cikampek II (Elevated) Toll Road project, the Porong-Gempol Relocation Toll Road, and the construction of a number of bridges located on the toll road sections constructed by Jasa Marga.
Therefore, in the framework of the construction safety audit to be undertaken by the government, Jasa Marga will deliver project information for elevated construction in the form of construction design, work methodology, standard operating procedure (SOP), equipment, human resources (HR), time schedule and timing of workmanship.
"Jasa Marga fully supports the Government's policy regarding the suspension of elevated project works and bridges. Jasa Marga will also reevaluate all methods of work and construction procedures particularly related to occupational safety and health," he concluded.
