JAKARTA, NNC - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Rini Soemarno as the representative of government shareholder in SOE will assign independent consultant to evaluate thoroughly the projects being undertaken by State-Owned Construction Companies. This followed a number of incidents in several projects undertaken by the state-owned companies.
Head of Public Relations and Protocol of SOE Ferry Andrianto said independent consultant serves to ensure that all construction projects implemented according to the best security standards. At the same time it aims to keep every stage of project work done well, prudent, and safe.
"The consultant is expected to immediately provide corrective action feedback on these projects to ensure compliance with the relevant technical ministries, namely the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Transportation," he said in a press release in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/21/2018).
The scope of evaluation to be undertaken includes the evaluation of the organization and procedures of QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) in each State-Owned Construction Companies with a target towards zero fatality.
The QHSSE Organization shall be the direct responsibility of the President Director to the attention and responsibility of the Board of Directors.
According to him, the evaluation will be conducted through cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing as technical regulator and the Ministry of Transportation as the owner of the transport infrastructure project.
During the evaluation period, independent consultants are expected to review the quality and safety of elevated projects and build QHSSE management towards zero fatality.
"Meanwhile the appointment of independent consultants will be conducted by the Chairman of the Indonesian Contractor Association (IKI) Budiharto," he concluded.
