JAKARTA, NNC - Coordinating Minister for the Marine Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan chaired a coordination meeting of the Board of Directors of Borobudur Tourism Authority Board (BOB) which was also attended by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya.

This meeting discussed how to integrate the parties involved such as the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial/Head of National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Environment and Forestry and others.

"The 350 hectares of land in the Borobodur [temple] area are under construction for completion with the ministers and K/L [ministries/agencies] involved," said Coordinating Minister Luhut, Saturday (2/10/2018).

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya has targeted the visits of two million tourists to Borobudur Temple. "That could roughly create IDR14 trillion in revenues for the region," said Luhut.

Asked about the progress of Kulonprogo Airport development, Minister Luhut hoped the existing problems could soon be completed so that the construction of the Airport which is currently being built is completed on time.

"The problem is there are those [residents affected] that have not come to take their compensation fund [land acquisition] due to administrative problems. Some of the families are still disputing the figures. By April everything will be completed," he explained.
