2018, MMAF Set Fishery Investment Target to Reach IDR6.3 Tln

JAKARTA, NNC - As of 2017, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) recorded an investment value of more than IDR4 trillion. This value is targeted to rise to IDR6.3 trillion this year.

"As of the third quarter of 2017, the investment value of marine and fisheries reached IDR4.03 trillion," said Director General of Empowerment of Marine and Fisheries Product Competitiveness at MMAF, Nilanto Perbowo, Thursday (1/11/2018).

He explained that the investment value in the hand capture and aquaculture business field increased by 96.81 percent or IDR1.23 trillion compared to the third quarter of 2016.

The investment value of the processing industry also climbed 0.4 percent or IDR2.29 trillion compared to the third quarter of 2016.

Meanwhile, as of third quarter of 2017, the main countries of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) origin are Singapore, Philippines, Belgium, China and Japan.

Seventy three percent of foreign funds are invested in the processing business, 19 percent in production business, and 7.25 percent in trading business.
