JAKARTA, NETRAL NEWS.COM - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi disclosed the policy to manage airports in Indonesia professionally.
Therefore, the government will open investment opportunities at 30 airports and 20 seaports to be managed by third parties in this case private sector as well as State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
"It is beyond imagination that the airports which have been commercialized, but still utilize the State Budget. So we will give private sector opportunity to manage and cooperate, whether pure private or state-owned enterprises," said Budi Karya in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/11/2017).
Budi added that the ministry has compiled regulation for cooperation with second party in airport and port management, such as Belitung, Bengkulu, Tarakan, Samarinda, Banyuwangi, Palu, Kendari, and Jayapura Airports.
Meanwhile as for the ports it amounted to 20 locations, which some have been released its management to the private sector, including port of Probolinggo, Bima and Waingapu.
With this pattern, the State Budget funding that is usually for the maintenance of airports and ports can be transferred to other infrastructure development in Eastern Indonesia. "It is also possible to strengthen the program of sea toll roads or air bridges," he said.
